The DDCA Under 21's played their Semi Final against Cricket Southern Bayside at Boss James Reserve on Sunday 14th January.
Scores were - CSB 5/226 off 40 Overs (Riley Siwes - Dandenong West 2/52 off 8 Overs, Jakob Woinarski - Mordialloc 1/19 off 6 Overs) defeated DDCA 10/129 off 30.4 Overs (Caleb Millman - North Dandenong 29, Imran Laghmani - Narre Warren 28, Zach Martin - Buckley Ridges 20, Joel Robertson - Coomoora 20no).
With that defeat it means that the DDCA's Under 21's campaign comes to an end for the 2017/2018 Season. Signs are promising for the future with one of the youngest sides the DDCA have produced.
The DDCA would like to thank a number of people for their help and contribution over the carnival. First thanks goes to Coach Craig Slocombe for the time and effort he has put in over the 4 games in trying to help these kids achieve their full potential. Selector Neil Shaw for the time and effort he has also put in with these boys over the carnival. Another huge thanks to Assistant Coach Greg Siwes for his outstanding contribution in this carnival in providing the necessary support required to ensure these kids were on top of their game.
Springvale South scorer Chris Osborne for his commitment in scoring for the Under 21's throughout the carnival. The DDCA is grateful for the Hallam Kalora Park CC providing their facilities for the 3rd game, including lunches & drinks for all players & officials and to Keysborough CC, who hosted our first two matches in the competition. We also thank umpire, Brett Roberts for officiating in our matches.
We would also like to thank all clubs who provided and nominated their players for the Under 21s team this season. Without them we would not have a team. A huge thanks to the those who came and supported the boys across the 4 games. Your support was invaluable.
No doubt the boys will be back bigger and stronger next year and return to the top where we belong.
