Traditionally, the vote count for the Alan Wookey Medal for the fairest and best Turf 1 player is held at the Dandenong Club on the Wednesday night before the Turf 1 Grand final.
The votes for the Charles Gartside Medal for the fairest and best turf 2 player are counted separately and the first three place getter announced at Senior Presentation night.
In a change in format for both grades, a joint vote count function will be held at the Dandenong Club on the last Sunday of the Home and away season (1st March).
The function will go from 1.00pm to 4.00pm with finger food provided as well as beer, wine and soft drink.
A cash bar will be available for spirits and BWS served before 1.00pm and after 4.00pm.
Cost of entry is $60.00 per head and all Turf 1 and Turf 2 clubs have been billed for five ticket each through the monthly accounts system.
There is every likelihood that some form of entertainment will be provided by way of a guest speaker, etc, but these details are yet to be formalised.
The incorporation of the vote count for two of our top awards is something that the DDCA has been looking forward to, but the function will not succeed without the support of the clubs.
Any club wanting more than there allocation of five tickets should contact the DDCA Treasurer, Neil Evans on 0429 939 327 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Clubs shall be advised of further details of the event as they come to hand.
The DDCA is indebted to Jarrod Goodes for his efforts in bringing this concept to reality.
